Utility Foreman Journeyman

POSITION TITLE:  Utility Foreman Journeyman

BRIEF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for coordinating the outside operations of the electric, water and waste water departments, including maintenance, capital projects, meter reading and administrative functions.  Position responsibilities to include delegating job duties, setting priorities, assigning duties and responsibilities to subordinates

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Possess a high school diploma or GED plus one additional year of trade school in one of the related fields and experience in the coordination of the operations and maintenance of one or more of the following: Electrical, Water, Waste Water distribution systems.  Must have considerable experience and capability in dealing and communicating with the general public.

Certification/Journeyman license and experience in high voltage electrical systems, knowledge of water systems and waste water systems, along with qualified valid driver’s license are a must to fulfill the responsibilities and duties of this position within the allotted probationary period.  The allotted probationary period is twelve (12) months from the starting date. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Ability to coordinate, organize, and direct work of employees;  knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques commonly used in utility operations; knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of work; ability to understand and follow moderately complex written and oral instructions;  good organizational, documentation and reporting skills.
