Gas School
MMUA is pleased to offer technical training for natural gas personnel.
Hands-on training: locating and leak field investigation
- Locating is an essential part of damage prevention. This school will provide an overview of one-call law changes, along with best practices to provide the most precise locating accuracy while in the field. Please bring your locator if you want pointers or to see how it performs in the field. There will also be a variety of locators and experienced instructors to help improve operator abilities.
- The gas leak field will allow operators to get valuable experience in a controlled environment. Experienced instructors will provide information on natural gas properties, proper equipment usage, leak detection procedures, classification, response, and reporting. Various leak detection equipment will be available, but please bring your own, if possible, to see how your equipment performs.
Other topics that may be covered include:
- MNOPS: inspections review and expectations
- Procedures and documentation during emergency response
