Generation School

With a mix of classroom and hands-on instruction in the plant, Generation School appeals to all learning styles and all levels of experience. In the classroom, attendees will hear from industry experts on topics such as emissions regulations, communications, best practices for testing and maintenance, and more. In the plant, attendees work and learn on the equipment, seeing and feeling what the seasoned instructors explain in real time.

Attendees will also tour Zephr Wind Services.

Note: This school is held at multiple locations. Participant is responsible for their own transportation.

Participants earn hours for attendance. Continuing education information can be found in the participant's Member Compass after the event. 

Please bring work attire and personal protective equipment appropriate for a generation plant including:

  • Safety glasses
  • Safety footwear
  • Hard hat (required for tour)

Hearing protection will be provided.

Experienced instructors will provided hands-on training in the plant at the following locations:

  • Caterpillar training will take place in Litchfield
  • Cooper and Fairbanks training will take place in Glencoe

When registering, you will need to select one of the engine sets for hands-on training.  

Registration fee includes workshop tuition, materials, refreshment breaks, and lunch on Wednesday. Participant is responsible for transportation and lodging.

Registration fee increases $50 on March 14. Advance registration closes on March 28, 2025.

Cancellations are subject to a $50 charge per person if received by 5:00 pm on March 28, 2025. Refunds issued to a credit card will be subject to an additional 3% fee. No refunds issued after March 28.
By registering for this event I/we authorize Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) to photograph me at this event and use such photographs in MMUA marketing materials (both electronic and print). I/we understand that I/we will not be paid for giving this consent.
