Minnesota Public Power Walleye Tournament
Enjoy a day of fishing on Rush Lake while benefiting lineworker education. Proceeds from this event have been donated to post-secondary electric line work training programs in Minnesota since 2002!
This is a team event (two people per boat). Limit 50 teams.
Saturday, May 31
Before 6:15 am - Tournament participants must be checked in
7:00 am–3:00 pm - Walleye fishing tournament
5:00 pm - Prize/awards presentation and cook out
All participants are welcome to join us for an informal social gathering/fish fry on Friday, May 30, starting around 5:30 pm.

Event will be held rain or shine.
Non-utility employee (vendor/supplier): $80 per person
- Catch and release is strongly encouraged.
- Fish harvested have size restrictions and must comply with MN DNR regulations.
- Tournament fish limit: six (6) or fewer walleye. Only one (1) walleye greater than 20 inches.
- Fish must be a minimum of 14 inches plus “gilling” to qualify as a weighable fish.
- Largest walleye format will be catch, photo, and release; see additional requirements below.
- All tournament anglers must check in at tournament headquarters before 6:15 am the day of tournament. Shotgun start at 7:00 am from Bladow Beach Resort.
- The only weigh station for this tournament is located at Bladow Beach Resort dock. No exceptions!
- The tournament shall promptly conclude at 3:00 pm. All entrants are required to check in at the weigh-in station, regardless if any fish were caught.
- All Minnesota state fishing regulations and boating laws shall be adhered to. Participants may be disqualified if not.
- Tournament Coordinators and tournament sponsors are not liable for any accidents, loss or damage of any property, or personal injury in conjunction with this tournament.
- A waiver must be completed prior to participation.
- Any discrepancies of weight, length, or other tournament matters shall be determined by Tournament Coordinators the day of event.
Largest Walleye requirements:
- The largest walleye is determine by total overall length. Fish must be minimum 24 inches to qualify.
- The largest walleye is part of your six (6) fish bag limit. It will be added to your total weight using a length/weight conversion chart.
- You must provide a digital photo of your largest walleye while resting on a bump board or Hawg trough-style measuring device.
- After taking the photo, we encourage the immediate release of your largest walleye.
