Position: Engineering Services Supervisor

Pay Range: $93,052 - $132,931 annually
Please note: Actual starting pay will be determined at the time of offer based on the experience, education and training of the successful candidate.
Engineering Services Supervisor Description
Austin Utilities is seeking a talented and self-driven individual to join our Engineering team. Under the general direction of the Utility Operations Director, performs complex and professional engineering work relating to the installation of water, natural gas, electric and other public works projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current regulations, codes and policies. Provides leadership by embracing and promoting a culture of caring, curious and committed.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Prepares engineering project plans, including drawings, specifications, required permit procurement and material ordering for the gas and water distribution system.

Develops short-term and long-term planning by completing analysis with modeling tools for the gas and water systems considering system loads, reliability and future needs.
•
Originates engineering specifications required for contract bids (e.g. survey mapping projects, horizontal directional drilling, excavation work, water supply and distribution system, etc.)

What will it take to be successful?
•
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering, or a related field.
•
Five (5) years of increasing responsibility in natural gas and/or water distribution systems, engineering and operations.
•
Valid Minnesota Driver’s license.
•
An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable as a minimum qualification.
