Love working with people, we have the job for you. The City of Saint Peter is seeking a Part-Time Guest Service Specialist. Under the general supervision of the Recreation and Leisure Services Director, the Guest Services Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to community center users and patrons of the Recreation and Leisure Services office. This position is responsible for a variety of customer service-related tasks, such as program registrations, facility rentals, daily community center operations, and supporting the department’s administrative functions. General work hours are anticipated hours between 12 - 6pm, Monday through Friday in person, and occasional changes to accommodate coverage or special events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma; one year of experience in customer service, office administration, or a related field with a focus on public interaction; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher); strong communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with the public, coworkers, and management; manage customer complaints tactfully; resolve conflicts effectively; and represent the organization in a positive and welcoming manner; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Recreation, or a related field preferred; two or more years of experience in a customer service or administrative role, ideally in a recreation, leisure, or public service environment with a focus on engaging with the public; Experience with facility reservations, program registrations, and related administrative duties; experience with recreation software systems, such as CivicRec or similar software, for managing registrations, reservations, and payments; experience creating marketing materials (e.g., flyers, event promotions, digital content) or familiarity with design tools;  ability to speak and/or write in Spanish or Somali. Salary range: Min $18 - Max $20 per hour DOQ (non-exempt). Notice: Job offer will be conditional upon a successful criminal background and City Council approval.
