Meter Serviceworker Owatonna
The Owatonna Public Utilities is seeking qualified applications for the position of Meter Serviceworker. Duties include the collection, transfer and editing of meter readings from the field to billing. Inventory, install, replace, test, calibrate and repair all devices involved with the measurement of electricity, water, natural gas including Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) which OPU has implemented. Responds to customer service calls regarding metering issues and performs disconnection of utility services.
Qualifications and Education requirements are:
- Two (2) Year technical college degree is preferred in metering, electronics, electricity, natural gas, or other related degree. A combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Work experience with an AMI metering at a Utility is a plus.
- 2 years work experience in the utility metering field preferred. Other
- combinations of training and/or documented experience will be considered.
- Proficient working in a windows operating system and at Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read blue prints & schematics
- Testing & maintaining meters is a plus.
- Minnesota Class “D” Drivers License is required
Current salary range is $78,019.14 to $98,758.40. Starting pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
